This weekend we went to Dresden. It is in central eastern Germany, right near the Czech Republic. Most of the city was destroyed during World War II, but they have done a lot of reconstruction on the old buildings. The biggest reconstruction project was on this church which translates to "The Church of Our Lady". There were a couple other

churches we saw as well. In the one church we snuck into a tour group so we got to tour through a lot more of the church, and went into the basement where all the old Kings and Queens of Saxony are. When we arrived Friday night we did a little bit of touring around so I got to see the city at night which was really cool! We also went to a transportation museum where they had lots of old cars, planes(just models of those), t

rains, bikes and ships(just models of those too). It was very intersesting. We did a bit of shopping too, and i bought a German soccer jersey but I didn't have time to buy anything else. That was about all for Friday and Saturday.

I really enjoyed being able to see all of that because it is all so old and has so much history, more than anything we have in Canada. On Sunday we went to "the mountains" haha I don't remember what they're called but they were much more different than ours. Where we were at there used to be what looked like some sort of medival

fort from the little miniature they had there. All that is left is like the stone floor and you can see the stone steps they had carved out, but the bridge is the main thing that is left. After that we drove through Berlin, and saw a few things but we didn't spend much time there because we're going back next week anyway. Thats about all for my weekend though! Today we are going to a soccer game! I'm really excited!
